ISSUE 049 | 21 November 2023

Hi friends!

I've been navigating my fear of public speaking lately. Despite my discomfort, I've taken the plunge with a couple of recent podcast appearances, started an online education course (the Business of Biodiversity), and even said yes to a slot at an in-person event this Thursday (see below). It's all part of the plan to conquer my nerves through experience. The more you do it, the easier it gets right?

Melbourne Regenerative Design Forum

Come and hear me speak this Thursday at the i2C studios in Collingwood along with Claire Bowles (Regenerative Development lead at i2C Architects), Matt Sykes (Founder at Regeneration Projects), with moderating from Mindy Low of B Lab.

We'll be chatting about shifting business models as we become more aware of our collective responsibility to not only deliver sustainable projects that positively shape our future but also to change the ‘way‘ we work and what we ‘value’.

Natural weed killers

It's the time of year where weeds are running rampant, and I have two great options for non-chemical solutions.

The first is a spray called Bioweed - an Australian owned and made product from sustainably sourced hand tapped pine oil. Organic certification, non-residual and 100% synthetic chemical free and glyphosate-free.

The second is a flame wand - a very therapeutic way to kill weeds, but it still uses a butane canister, so it's not fossil free. I haven't found an electric version (yet!).

NatureBoss

It's also the time of year where you might be looking for a corporate event or Christmas activity - and if you want something a bit different that also gives back, take a look at NatureBoss. They are a sustainability-focused event planning service, tailored for businesses looking to book environmentally conscious events and conferences across Australia.

NatureBoss provides real-time reporting and analytics that shows exactly how much impact an organisation is having, plant 10 trees for every experience you book, and also gives you the option to offset the carbon of your experience.
